There’s one thing I’ve really missed since having to eat gluten and dairy free… donuts. It’s especially hard this time of year with pumpkin patches and apple orchards serving up freshly made (gluten-filled) donuts. As fall approached I found myself craving donuts, so I was thrilled to see this mouth-watering pumpkin pie donut recipe over on my friend Mikki’s blog, Finding Happy in Healthy.
She’s tried and tested this donut recipe with simple ingredients to perfection and it looks a-mazing! I can’t wait to try this out for a Thanksgiving morning treat. I don’t have a donut pan yet and most donut pans contain teflon so I’ve been eyeing this silicone donut pan on Amazon, it looks like it would work well with this recipe.
If you’re craving these now like me (how could you not be), head over here to grab the recipe.

If you use almond flour, you’ve got to head to Sam’s Club where you can get the best price ever seen on almond flour! They have 3 lb. bags of Bob’s Red Mill blanched, super-fine almond flour for $11.18 (through 1/31/18), making it just $3.72 lb! This even beats Costco who had the best price per lb. at $4.33 lb.
If you pick up a 1 lb. bag of almond flour in grocery stores, you could pay as much as $10 lb. This Sam’s Club deal is a deal worth stocking up on, especially if you use almond flour frequently. I love baking with almond flour (like this almond flour pumpkin bar recipe) as it’s a low carb, high protein option that bakes similarly to regular flour. Be sure you’re buying the blanched almond flour like this Bob’s Red Mill kind (as opposed to the meal) as it has a much lighter texture.
You can also grab this deal on Sam’s website, it’s priced at $11.98, which still comes out to just $3.99 lb. Even if you’re not a Sam’s member, they usually let you buy from their site. They will often just increase the price by 10%.
